Raleigh’s Crabtree Valley Dental is committed to the philosophy of Restorative Dentistry, which is the concept of reproducing or repairing teeth and adjoining bones and tissue, through the use of metal and ceramic materials. In addition to solutions such as dentures, dental implants, crowns, bridges, our dentists are able to offer dental implants as a treatment option. With implants, artificial teeth are surgically anchored to the jawbone in the area just below the gumline. Onlays and veneers address the appearance of the “new tooth.” Over time, the human body completes the process, by growing bone and gum matter around the tooth. This provides the artificial implanted tooth with even more stability and permanence.

At Crabtree Valley Dental, we find that tooth-colored fillings are becoming more and more popular among children and adults. They are a great option for patients who desire fillings that are beautiful and virtually undetectable.
Tooth-colored fillings are made from a composite resin that makes it possible for us to match the color of your teeth. Another benefit of these types of fillings is that they require less of the healthy part of the tooth to be removed because the resin is able to actually bond to teeth. After the decayed part of the tooth is removed, the tooth is kept dry while an adhesive and several thin layers of the composite are applied. Hardening the filling takes only a minute and is done with a curing light or laser.
We strongly recommend these tooth-colored composite fillings for small cavities and teeth that are prominent and visible. However, if the tooth has experienced significant decay or is in a position that is consistently used for chewing or biting, we may discuss and advise a different type of restoration.
